History
Cornerstone Christian Care Society, Inc. (CCCS) was founded in March 2007. A group of like-minded individuals saw a need to support individuals with special needs within our community. The deacons from five Christian churches in Carman and Winnipeg became engaged and appointed a steering committee of members from within these congregations to write the constitution and by-laws that would govern the society. These governance documents were adopted at the inaugural meeting of the membership on March 31st, 2007, and Cornerstone came into existence. CCCS became incorporated on August 23rd, 2007 and became a registered charity on April 1st, 2008.
Currently, the society is comprised of approximately 110 members who have elected five members to serve as a board of directors. The task of the board is to oversee the development of programs which provide care to these individuals. CCCS currently operates two 24/7 residential care facilities in Manitoba: one in Carman, and one in Winnipeg. CCCS also provides support for individuals in Supported Independent Living (SIL), and families in need of Respite Care. For more information on current programs, please click here
