Welcome to Cornerstone Christian Care Society! We are a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the care of developmentally challenged individuals within our community.

We have as our basis the Holy Bible, as summarized in the Three Forms of Unity: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism and the Canons of Dort. We have as our ultimate goal our God’s glory and honour through the care of these special covenantal individuals.

We currently operate a full 24/7 residential care program in both Carman, MB and Winnipeg, MB. Funding of our organization is provided in part by the government of Manitoba (Child & Family Services). We also rely heavily on the generosity and donations of private corporations and individuals.

History

Cornerstone Christian Care Society, Inc. (CCCS) was founded in March 2007. A group of like-minded individuals saw a need to support individuals with special needs within our community. The deacons from five Christian churches in Carman and Winnipeg became engaged and appointed a steering committee of members from within these congregations to write the constitution and by-laws that would govern the society. These governance documents were adopted at the inaugural meeting of the membership on March 31st, 2007, and Cornerstone came into existence. CCCS became incorporated on August 23rd, 2007 and became a registered charity on April 1st, 2008.

Currently, the society is comprised of approximately 110 members who have elected five members to serve as a board of directors. The task of the board is to oversee the development of programs which provide care to these individuals. CCCS currently operates two 24/7 residential care facilities in Manitoba: one in Carman, and one in Winnipeg. CCCS also provides support for individuals in Supported Independent Living (SIL), and families in need of Respite Care. For more information on current programs, please click here

CCCS, like many charities, depends on two major revenue sources: public funding and private or corporate charitable giving.

As a recognized social services agency in Manitoba, we receive public funding and health and training services through Manitoba Child and Family Services.

We depend even more heavily on the generosity of individuals and businesses inside and outside of our immediate community.
